[Syrupmakers] planting sugar cane

Hey everybody, Do ya'll think it'll be ok to plant my sugar cane this late?  
I got my cane late last year and had to bank it. I live near Jackson,  MS. The 
USDA handbook says no later than March 15. But it's been so wet and  cold. I 
couldn't do anything. What do ya'll think?
