"The Rev. Don Howard Dean, beloved husband, father, grandfather, pastor and
friend, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, following a brief illness. He was
home with his family at his bedside. He was 71. 
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Byrd
Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Hays McKay, Dr. Herb Sadler and the Rev. Gary
Stringfellow officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery with
Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral
home from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. 
Memorials may be made to the Asbury Foundation Fund of the Alabama-West
Florida Conference, which offers scholarships to students preparing for the
