[Syrupmakers] US Sugars selling land back to State of Florida

Tracy,
     I read the report yesterday on Yahoo, I think it was. Sounds like Big Government and Big Sugar got together and had a little party. This MAY help open up sugarcane for ethanol production.
    Maybe it's better than U S Sugar selling the land for condos and such. With the gas price hike, sugar will have to increase in price. But if U S Sugar leases the land back for 6 years, there will be NO immediate changes from that deal.

Very interesting article about a sugar manufacturing company (US Sugars) in Florida…this may change the price of sugar in the long term, but doesn’t seem to be making a big difference yet.
 
Also, make sure you read the comments at the bottom of the link, as it basically states US Sugars will remain in business past the 6yr turnover by importing raw sugar from Mexico, S. Am, etc.
