Kevin, Different makes of kettles have different dimentions, even if gallons are the same.
I cook on several different sized kettles. I think the easiest way to get a ring is to find someone close to you with an old blacksmith shop. I keep many sizes of buggy and wagon rims to use in my shop. Just measure inside lip diameter and if they don't have the exact size it's easy enough to cut down. I figure $5 will buy a rim. Tommy

Well, my sorghum has been in the ground about 3 weeks. Not a drop of rain since before I planted. Luckily there is a spring under the field where I plant, so it’s actually out of the ground, but not thriving.
Anyway, I always start preparing my equipment right after I plant, that way everything is in working order come harvest and cooking time. This year I decided to tear the corn binder apart and sandblast the metal and replace the wood. I’m in the middle of that project now.
The other thing I want to do this year is make one of those rings that go just inside the kettle (I have a goldens 80 gallon) to boil the syrup over and filter. I have cooked in my kettle the last 3 years, but have been wanting to make one of these and learn to use it. Can anyone using a kettle give me any dimensions on the ring and any pointers on how to use it?
Thanks
Good luck to everyone on their crops this year.
