Ken R,
Jujubes practically originated in LA! Sherwood Akin(deceased) of Sibley, discovered 1 on the banks of the Red River and marketed trees of it. He discovered one large-fruited variety which he name Sherwood. It is a date-like fruit which is produced on a somewhat thorny, but deciduous tree. Dried, they taste much like dried dates from palms(dactylifera, I think). Eaten raw, they are much like a very sweet apple--with a large seed in the middle.
Bill,
How are the pawpaws? I have some this year.
Richard

I don't think we have those in LA.
