Jay,
   Your pictures look nice. Where the can did come up, it looks good. The amount of stand, however, would lead me to believe that some of the eyes were bad when planted. Don't feel too bad about the lack of a great stand, however. I brought back a stalk or two each of 12 varieties from Miami about May 1. I planted them about a week later and now, there are 0 sprouts up!!!  It is all black in the ground. The cane must have soured from the heat on the return trip and killed the eyes... Maybe if I had planted sooner........??
