[Syrupmakers] Getting Started With Sorghum

Sheri,

The plants should be spaced at around 8 inches from my experience. If you
have 300 stalks in 15 feet of row, that means they are around a half inch apart.
If you have the room, you can try to thin them, say to 6 inches apart, and try
your hand at transplanting. I transplant them quite a lot, but they are usually
around a foot tall when I do it. If they stay like this, they will be very thin and
spindly and will not do well.

As far as the juicer/steamer, I have my doubts that you would get very much
out of it that way. If it was that simple, there would be a surplus of cane
mills in this country.

Take care.
