  Dear Syrupmakers,
Southern Syrupmakers Association members, Willard Smith and Sam McBroom were on channel 28's Captain Roy's Outdoors TV Show in Panama City this morning at 5:30 a.m.. They talked about syrupmaking and showed pictures of syrupmaking at the Pandhandle Pioneer Settlement. It was announced that our next Syrup Tasting/Fellowship Meeting will be held in DeFuniak Springs on February 23 at 10 a.m. at the Walton County Extension Office which is located at 732 N 9th St. (SR 83 North, I think). The phone number at the Extension Office is 850-892-8172. Bruce Ward is our Extension Agent contact there.
Syrupmakers need to be there earlier than 10 a.m. to set up for the syrup tasting and meet each other, too. So, bring your syrups. Our meetings have been very interesting. General public is invited. The doors open at 9 a.m., I understand, so I plan to be there about that time.
       See ya'll there !
                                                  Richard Harrison, vice president, SSA
We learned also that Covington County, Alabama(just North of Walton Co) is interested in our having a meeting there. Anyone who wants to volunteer to help organize a meeting there, please let me know.
Our Dade City, FL meeting date is still TBA. We'd like to do a meeting in the Thomasville, GA area, too. .....need volunteers!
