Hey All,

I bought a Golden #27 a while back and am so happy to have it. I have taken it apart and put it back together already, and overall it is in good condition. The babbit is thin in places, but not worn through. I intend to repour all of the bearings and do a complete restoration before next syrup season. The problem I did encounter was that the gear on the big roller and the gear on the outfeed roller must have been set too far apart in the past and both of them are severely worn. I know it is all but impossible, but does anyone know somebody who might have these two gears for sale? If not, what kind of advice would you offer? Would you try to get someone to cast them out of cast iron,or would you get a machine shop to cut them out of steel? Any ideas on cost? Do you have anyone that you recommend? What is odd is that the gear on the infeed roller appears to be in perfect condition. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

David Wynn
