Danny,
I don't have specifics, but in general I think that I can tell you that it is not cost effective for small scale--at all. A man in Jacksonville, FL wanted to buy cane juice from me for about 10-15 cents per gallon last year. The cost of juice production is about 50 cents..so you do the math, as they say. I advised the man to grow his own sugarcane(!).
I do know that sorghum produces something like half as much syrup(sugar) per acre as sugarcane. So, I can't see how you could recover your costs, frankly. However, if you machine harvested with something like a silage chopper and had a large enough mill.....
We have a member of our Southern Syrupmakers Association who did a little distillation this season for fun and experimentation. But he hasn't reported his findings to us. (Maybe he found food-grade ethanol instead ! It is more cost effective, that way).

Does anyone have info on making ethanol from Sorghum on a small scale basis? All help would be greatly appreciated.

  Thanks.
