[Syrupmakers] cane mill bearings

JT,
On My Chatt. 12, The end of the shafts sat on 2 pcs of
steel stock that were approx. 3/16" thick. Im not sure
if it is original or not, but it did still have the
original brass bearings in it. Perhaps that since the
bearing box is always filled with oil, that there is
not a wear problem. I just turned my shafts, and
poured new babbitt bearings. I plan to use the same
pcs of stock under my shafts. Hope to get it all
assembled soon. I now have to try to weld some cracked
places on the top. Hope this helps & good Luck!
