[Syrupmakers] syrup kettles

the kettle we used was given to us by a friend, who dad used it many years
to butcher hogs and cook out cracklings....when we got the kettle, we
cleaned it very good with hot soapy water and we used a wire wheel to remove
rust from the inside of the kettle. how do you prep your kettle for storage
once syrup-making time is over. comments and or suggetions appreciated.
