[Syrupmakers] Mill Conversion

Jay,
     Now I have all the questions !  What is the rpm of the electric motor ?  What is the hp rating ? What is the hp rating of the worm gear reduction ?

The speed reduction is a worm. It also has 2 or maybe
3 stages of gear reduction. I haven't taken the
reduction unit apart so i'm not sure as to how many
stages there is. The reduction unit is 210:1 and when
you figure in the ratios of the pulleys it ends up at
237:1 or 325:1 depending on which pulley is used. It
seems that I"ll have to operate it at about 5-6 RPM so
that I'll have the torque needed. I used the website
that Bill Outlaw has as my base for the recomended
power requirements.
