Well, I guess with the lack of a response to my question as to what type of sorghum would be suitable for west central La. it must not be a good place to grow sorghum or there is just a lack of knowledge for this area and soil condition.

What kind of sorghum should I plant in west central Louisiana? I am east of Toledo Bend Lake. Rain is plentiful and it is hot. I can plant in march and my soil is gumbo on top of clay so that means my soil is sticky and never really dries out. Still looking for a lead on chewing cane for spring planting. I will be traveling to Ft. Stewart Ga. tomorrow to pick up some kettles via I10 so maybe I can get some en route. Sure hate to have missed that $250 kettle in Ocala Fla. on the 5th. The lady said it sold the day it was advertised. Someone is still patting themselves on the back on that deal.

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? thanks, peter
