[Syrupmakers] Newbie question on growing ranges

Dave,
Foremost, I would encourage you to try Mennonite because a friend of mine likes it and it is a very short growing season variety. It matured so quickly for me that I was not prepared to harvest it ! It ran up fast and I thought it should grow taller than it did and my harvest was too late and the juice starchy. (It was my first experience with sweet sorghum, too) Disease problems here may have caused it to be much lower quality here than it would be in a more suitable climate.
                                          Richard

Richard,

Thanks for the info on the Mennonite sweet sorghum. Did it produce good syrup, and a decent yield?
