I can wiggle the shaft. It has some slack. But, it still may not be made to come out. I just bumped on it from both ends, but it would come loose.

??? JT, on mine you DO NOT remove the shaft. The shaft and roller are all one piece of cast iron. The gear is separate. I realize that there might be a later model that had a two-piece design.
