Dick,
I did not put it in a good mellon, rather I would put it in a mellon they had eaten part of. They would eat part of it one night and return and eat the rest the following night.
There are no young one's in our area anyway. They all know I give the mellons away when they get ripe. I never have had any problems until this year.

Please be careful when putting poison in watermelons. Kids have been known to
slip in a patch at night and sample a few melons. I for one have done it.
I raised some big watermelons this year, a lot of them thirty pounds and over.
I had charleston grey, blak diamonds, moon and stars, and crimson sweet melons.
We ate all we could hold and gave the rest away. Sure were good.
My cane was doing real good until that four flusher, Fay came by. Now it is
laying in all directions.
