    Jay, you don't have to be that careful when you strip. The leaves add 
vegetable matter to the juice which increases the skimmings. That is why 
most of us strip them off. A couple of whacks with your stripper is all you 
need. If a little piece of leaf remains - that is ok. An old hand saw makes 
a great stripper. We put a more convenient handle on them and we sharpen the 
back edge to cut the stalks down with.
