Raymond,
I would be afriad to do that. It sure would be bad if
it killed the cane. We row crop corn,soybeans and
wheat here, and sometimes us a thing called a "ROPE
WICK" It does no more that wipe across the tops of the
weeds and applys round up. Now, don't laugh cause I
know this sounds crude, but you can take a paint
roller that has been dipped in roundup and wipe it
across the grass. just be careful not to get it on the
crop. Also you won't have any worries about the wind
drifting the spray anywhere that it's not wanted.
