Greetings from Weather Dry Creek Farm just outside the sprawling metropolis of Avilla, Arkansas.
Picked up a Goldens' No. 3 this weekend. Looks real good. All the parts appear to be there. It has the new style guide knife (1928?) but no scrapers (prior to 1933?).
Tore the mill down today. The bottom journals are a bit rough. Every thing else appears to be a matter of cleaning up good and putting it to work.
If the journals are in "so-so" shape, can you machine and then "sleeve" them to bring them back to specs?
Will start the cleaning tomorrow. Will have to check out the new water blaster at work for removing rust and paint. Speaking of paint, does anyone have the number or specs for the paint?
Bed is calling me. 0345 comes early.
