Ken,
We have always used mason jars, clean jars that held store bought
mayonnaise, pickles, ketchup, ect to bottle in. We cook cane syrup in an 80
gal boiler and jar it while it is still hot (fairly soon after we take it
up). I have seen Mama turn jellie over to seal, but we have never done that
with syrup...sure the hot syrup would kill anything in the jar it touched,
but with bottles it would be more difficult to do. We have never had
trouble with foaming either.

Good evening all,
Just curious what folks are using to bottle their syrup now? We used mason
jars last year. Can't seem to locate any of the tins we used to buy it in.
Does anyone know of a source?
This turning things upside down is a new one on me. Neither my wife , mother
or grandmother ever did such a thing when canning that I remember.
