  Michael,

  The speaker at the 2005 Cane Give-Away gave the most comprehensive overview of grass and weed control in sugar cane that I've seen.  I'll type it up and send in a few days, but I'm off to the farm to cut cane this morning.

  However, let me use this as an opportunity to announce our Southern Syrup-Makers' Association Annual Meeting on Saturday, January 27 at the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement in Blountstown, FL.  Here is the program outline we're trying to put together.

  1.  Varieties:  Advantages and disadvantages
  2.  Grass and Weed Control in Sugar Cane
  3.  Methods and Procedures in Syrup-making
  4.  Cane Mills
  5.  Effective gas burners

  I'll send more specific details later, and will write up the information given last year.
