Bobby,
Did you ever see the cane or have it ? What interest is there in this variety ? Is it a good syrup cane ? Large diameter ? Chewing ? In other words, give me a little more to go on. Thanks !
The CP 52-48 that got frozen made good syrup even yesterday. Do you still want to try it ? Warmer temperatures are expected this week and a I don't know how much longer it will hold in the field. I 'm very surprised that it has lasted for 5 days already !

Richard I don't have much info. on what was referred to me as Government 16 that was the term used. I know it was grown in our area in the 50ties 60ties maybe 70ties. The person I was talking to said he had 30 acres the last year he made syrup, and then sold his equipment. Thanks Bobby Sugarcane
