Whoa... Raymond!  Your suggestions were great ones too!  I am a major "demo
man", nit when it comes to fabrication, I rely on my friend Richard.  He
actually got me into this hobby / obsession.  Your shaft comments were dead
on!

There is a place here called Automotive Fasteners that can get most any
style nut.  Our bigger problem was the lower adjusters.  The factory ones
were made from square stock and turned down then threaded.  My friend that I
do this with is pretty crafty.  He was able to take a bolt, cut the head
off, and weld it to some square stock.  They look original!
